Pontiak: Sun on Sun (Thrill Jockey)

I don’t know if it’s me or everyone else.  I’m seeing descriptions of this as experimental rock, neo-psychedelia, and indie rock.  To me, it sounds more like stoner rock, not stoner metal.

I’m listening to the title track ‘Sun on Sun’ and I’m getting a Black Sabbath (Paranoid era)/Doors ‘this is the end’/Pink Floyd ‘Dark Side of the Moon’ vibe.  It’s slow, and it’s droney, but there is a song unfolding, it’s just taking it’s time.  9 minutes of time.   They have a nice tripped out solo going on now, I’ll check you later.
