The ugly math of Facebook livestreamed murders

Whatever it costs Facebook to pay 7,500 people to monitor its live video streams to censor murder and suicide out and whatever reputational damage these murder/suicide videos cause to Facebook’s already tarnished brand is far outweighed by how much money Facebook can wrangle from advertisers.

So however depressing it is that the world’s largest social media platform broadcasts murders and suicides and whatever mental damage is done to these 7,500 people who are going to monitor the live streams you can at least take solace that Mark Zuckerberg and his shareholders are making money.
