From NBC News here:
This presidential race, marked by its raw anger and the candidates’ mutual contempt, has rattled France.
Nobody wants to discuss the economic and social conditions that has created voter anger across the post-industrial Western world.
They either want to exploit the anger for political gains (Trump!) or pretend it doesn’t exist or is unjustified (Clinton).
My guess is that if this discussion were to take place it would involve a loss of control and an overriding and over aggressive form of capitalism that has created a lot of this anger.
