@@@ RAM: Ram 6: Manmanm Se Ginen (Willibelle & Sons, 2016) Some rocking Haitian music I got to after seeing a blurb about their new record from the indie music blog Indiepulse. This first tune, Papa Loko, is a world music song but it has a driving rock feel. I have quick tasted four of these tunes and this is happening music — good grooves, an excellent drummer, ear catching guitarist and that kinda unique addition of a little rock energy. I’m going to check this record out more when I have time. Check this out.
@@@ HAIM: Want you Bacl (Columbia, 2017) Mainstream pop rock off the Apple Music hot tracks section. I’ve peeped HAIM and my feeling that they are overrated is confirmed here. This is a thick slab of three ladies harmonizing but not with a lot of cliches, some mainstream ear candy, and frankly bullshit lyrics. The album is called Something to Tell You but my impression is they have nothing to say. I’m thinking this is the kind of music Donald Trump listens to when he’s peeing on prostitutes. Oh God, kill me.
