From the New York Times:
WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that several high-ranking Bush administration officials may not be sued for policies adopted after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The officials include John Ashcroft, the former attorney general, and Robert S. Mueller III, the former F.B.I. director who is now investigating possible links between the Trump administration and Russia.
The case began in 2002 as a class action filed by mostly Muslim immigrants over policies and practices that swept hundreds into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on immigration violations shortly after the attacks. The plaintiffs said they had been subjected to beatings, humiliating searches and other abuses.
They make these awful policies but they can never be held accountable for them.
It was a difficult time, people made mistakes.
Like invading a country that had nothing to with 9/11. So when you look around and wonder why things are such a fucking toilet it’s because the people in charge can do whatever they want and they’re going to get away with it.
Wall Street assholes can fuck up royally and they get bailed out!
George Bush invaded Iraq and completely destroyed it and he got a big fat hug from Michelle Obama!
It’s all good for the folks at top. Michael Brown maybe stole a pack of cigars and he’s dead. Tamir Rice had a water gun and he got blown away.
Sounds fair to me.
