Do you sometimes feel like livestock?

A staggering 80 percent of the antibiotics sold in the U.S. are given to farm animals, mostly, as I said, prophylactically: the low-dose drugs help the animals fatten quickly and presumably help ward off diseases caused by squalid living conditions.

Comment:

I’m not on any medication outside of supplements, but sometimes I feel an awful lot  of Americans are being kept in squalid living conditions and fed low doses of medication, large doses of addictive junk food, and sedating cable tv in attempt to keep things calm and fat and ‘happy’.

I know it’s a core American principle to cheerlead but I prefer the truth.
