In the same way the West has created more terrorists by torturing Muslims, people view Assange more sympathetically when they see him being treated this way. Calling for his assassination, calling him a terrorist, it’s so hyperbolic and unproductive.
If the authorities and their rabid watchdogs in the media had just taken the slap in the face with some dignity, they wouldn’t have created such a god awful mess that’s going to drag on and on, and also push people towards this dude.
All in all it’s been a pretty pathetic reaction from our leaders.
